We did it!!!
It was a photo finish and I have all of you to thank. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our story, signed up to follow, or done anything to help us reach our goal.
Less than an hour before the deadline, one of my supporters emailed me and said, "I’m concerned you have just an hour left and 4% to go to get greenlit!"
I wrote her back simply: I have faith! : )
I said that because I embarked on this process with a sense of calling. Despite a gazillion obstacles, I really felt like this was the time to tell this story and make this film. Your support and generosity has helped affirm that for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Another friend emailed me this morning and asked me if I was really trying to make this film for this small amount of money. He said he has friends who are making films for $250,000 and finding it a big challenge.
I told him that yes, that is what we're doing. It's going to take a lot more miracles to pull it off. We still have the other 15% to raise but I've already set up a new site at http://www.supporthooked.com
to take those donations.
We're going to be asking local businesses to donate a lot and several have already promised to do so. We're going to be the movie of miracles and I love that. I love that we the people are deciding the story we'd like to tell and this one will bring awareness to human traficking and help people to see autism through a new lens.
You have helped make that possible! You have blessed me tremendously.
On Monday, we're opening our production offices in a space donated to us by Eastside Foursquare Church in Seattle because they believe in what we're doing. Nightlight International will be sending us jewelry created by women freed from trafficking which will be worn by our actors and they too are excited about what's to come. Those are just a couple of the many partners who will make our film possible.
None of that would have been possible without your support!
Thank you again.
Now let's get this movie made!
All my best,
